Ferrule Insertion Setter
Unlike most designs that drive the ferrule onto the shaft at the risk of blunting the ferrule; This ferrule setter sits the ferrule flat in a counter-bored Nylon plug while the shaft is driven into it. The result is a ferrule that keeps its shape and removes the potential of pinching one’s fingers in the process!
Ferrule insertion depth is controlled by shaft stops that can be set and locked to the desired depth, leaving the clubmaker with enough latitude to drive the ferrule to its final depth in the final stages of assembly.
The ferrule setter is suitable for .335, .350 & .370 shaft tips and ferrules with a diameter of up to 20 mm. Maximum shaft insertion depth is 70 mm.
Precision tool for inserting ferrules to the correct depth. Bolts onto a bench. Most designs drive the ferrule into the shaft. The key feature of this design is that it does the opposite - the shaft is driven into the ferrule. This prevents ferrules from being blunted.
